The Spanish video games industry newsletter (January 5th)

Hello everybody!

Tomorrow is a national holiday in Spain, so we’re covering the releases one day before the usual because on Friday we’ll be opening presents that the Three Wise Men brought to us, which may probably be the following indie game:

Grabitoons! was released on the 26th of December by Entalto Studios on Steam and Switch.

If you are looking for a last-minute Christmas present, Grabitoons might be a good option for your family. This is a party game for up to 4 players where collaboration is not an option. Grab, throw, smack and whack your way through more than 15 different mini-games. The best of all is its accessible design – a good fit for all ages, from kids to grandparents.

Other incredible things that happened these past few days:

Rovio opened a studio in Barcelona!

You might know them for being the developers of Angry Birds and other mobile games. Rovio was founded in 2003 by students from Aalto University – School of science and technology.

The new office will hire 30 professionals from the Spanish game industry, where they’ll work on games such as Dream Blast and Angry Birds Friends.

And that’s all for this week. The industry seems to have slowed down due to the Holiday season, but soon we’ll be back to normal. Enjoy what’s left of the Holiday season and don’t forget to follow us on social media!
